Surface Tension, took place at White Street Carpark, Cork from 27 to 29 May 2005, was an explosive weekend of street-based artwork by renowned national and international artists including Mr.Who, TDA, Klan, Cool C and TML (Ireland); Insa, Third-Decade, Kelso, (UK); Pez, Zosen, OO+ (Spain); Tiws, Crema (Denmark); Scream 1 (NZ) and Sonik (USA). Curated by Dee Hurley, this event took place as part of the Cork 2005: European City of Culture programme.The event was launched on May 27, while May 28 and 29 saw an action packed two days of creative painting. The social culmination of the event took place at Club One late on Sunday 29 May with a night of music DJs, breakdancers, mcs and time-lapse projections of the work created over the weekend.
