I think she was a direct descendant from aboriginis and that made it more meaningful. But this is still a cool way to light it.

great lighting but the music wasnt quite as dramatic as athens, it didnt quite give me the chills.but bravo to sydney.

At last, can't you see the symbolism of the Athens 2004 lighting? It is the cauldron that comes to meet the athlete! Man dominates the machines. Human beings were the centre of the Athens 2004 opening ceremony! That's all. Nothing more, nothing less...

I am also Chinese and I am Malaysia. I also support Beijing that they did well. Well,2 more years later,Winter Olympic is in your own country, Vancouver

its so sad how it malfunctioned and it stood there for like 5 minutes! but i think beijing did a better job for an opening ceremony,maybe its only because i'm chinese and i have to support them!!! lol!

Sydney put on one of the most spectacular (if not) the best games in history. With such a profound year "2000" it will be easily remembered for years to come. Beijing came pretty close though...
